Merrilee requested an adoption from me... I think - not sure though .. that must be the first time we met. When I discovered she lived in The Netherlands, I was curious about how she ended up here, such a long way from home. It turned out she met Marc (hubby) online, came to Holland and never left :)
I tried to imagine how it must be like for Merrilee, living in a foreign country, without all the familiar things, customs, friends, family - different language (which she had to learn from scratch) and I came to the conclusion that *I* would feel lonely and would welcome new friends. So, we sent lots and lots of emails, talked at yahoo (advantage of living in the same timezone) and exchanged recipes. Merrilee loves cooking, hence the graphics :)
I'm so happy for her that they decided to return to the US, where they are living again now. The only thing I regret is not meeting her when they lived sooo close (compared to the distance to the US), but I'm sure we'll meet whenever they come to Holland for a family-visit.
Thank you Merrilee, for the wonderful generous friend you are. You are always sending me graphics and I don't know where I'd be without my yellow pages *grin*
