Do you remember those times…? Let me paint the picture….
You’re about 15/16 years old, a new band releases their first single. Not only do you love the song, but the guys look great as well and what’s even better, they live in your hometown!
Well, that’s what happened to me. I was a huge fan of a glamrock-band (we’re talking about the 70s here!) called Catapult. My best friend had a crush on the guitarist, I adored the lead-singer. Posters on the wall, I drew portraits of them and we tried to visit every concert within reach (considering our limited pocket-money and the fact that we had to get there by bike or bus). It was a wonderful time!
When my oldest went to school for the first time, I accompanied her, of course. When I entered the school, a man just came out of the door and I thought he looked familiar. I couldn’t exactly remember where I saw him before until hours later… it was the lead singer of Catapult. No longer the wild glamrock star, but a man in his fifties, with a short hairdo, wearing a common jeans and sweater. Turned out he lived just one street away from me, married with two kids. Although I got over my teenage crush decades ago, it was still weird seeing him.
I think I prefer the memories of that wonderful time in my life, rather than accepting that – like him – I’m no longer a teenager with my whole life in front of me and so many plans for the future…
*sigh* I’m old :p
In case you’re wondering about my taste of music, here’s a clip I found at YouTube. I have to confess, I still love the music (but those clothes and moves *rolls eyes*)
When I started sharing Digital Scrapbooking graphics, I had no idea if someone would like them. As only a few people leave comments (to those who do: I appreciate them a lot), you can never be sure if the kits are wanted or not. Well, I checked my Box.net account just now and got a nice surprise.
Not in the top 10, but it shows the popularity of the houses π Hogwarts 280 downloads

1. One of my favs as well. My Life’s A Stage kit. Downloads: 1301
Wow is all I can say, I never expected so many downloads. It’s a shame though that no one sent me a copy of (or a link to) their layouts, I would have loved to see how they used the kit(s).
This is just the thing I needed. I will dive into my PSP again, to see if I can get the creative juices flowing.
If I do, more freebies are on their way. Watch this space π
While browsing through my files I found an unfinished kit that had been sitting there collecting dust because the stained glass images distracted me π So I kicked myself in the you-know-where and added several things. I tried to create some new elements and I like the way they turned out.
I hope you can use it! Please let me know if you create a layout with it, I’d love to see this kit in action.
Enjoy!
Long time visitors of my blog will know that I’m a huge fan of Lee Mead, who won the BBC search for the lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Well… a Dutch production of Joseph is in the making now, for the first time ever. As the Dutch haven’t got a clue what the musical is about, and the producers want the theatres to be sold out, they started a search on Dutch TV. It’s free publicity and when the hype starts, people will buy tickets (I already got mine :D)
When I saw who was auditioning for the show I jumped for joy. Freek Bartels – Manon and I met him after Les Mis – was brave enough to accept the challenge of facing a TV audience for many weeks in a row.
After the initial auditions, where 750 guys tried their luck, he went to the next round. He made it through Joseph school Γ‘nd made it to the final 10! Those 10 have to perform on live TV and each week the public will vote one of them off. Last Sunday was the first live TV show, and here’s a video. He’s the guy in the orange suit, in the first shot: first row on the right. Enjoy!
GO GO GO GO Freek! I can’t wait for the second show on Sunday!!
If you’re a Digital Scrapbooker, you should visit DigiFree. I found it by accident on one of my surfing journeys and was amazed.
I have no idea how it works as I’m no good at technical stuff, but it works anyway!
Maria’s robots search the net for freebies and she lists them on her site. Hundreds, or better said thousands of freebies to choose from!
So… no more time wasted for us – those who are looking for scrapbooking freebies – the job is all done. Just browse through the images and click what you like. Isn’t that wonderful?
For me it works both ways. I have found many gems through DigiFree and Digifree sent many visitors my way. So… hop over and I bet you’ll find something you like at: DigiFree.
Remember to leave some love if you download freebies, I for one know that a simple thank you does wonders for the artists π
