I had so much fun creating this stained glass image! In fact, I’ve already created many of them and will add matching background papers, but I couldn’t wait to share these tulips with you all 🙂
Clicking the image will take you to the png file. Just ‘right click’ and ‘save image as’
Many thanks to Spectrum Glass for the glass images and pattern 🙂
1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog.
3) Write 6 random things about yourself.
4) Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them.
5) Let each person know they have been tagged, leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up.
I’ve recently tagged people and I don’t want to do it again this soon, so if you feel like posting random facts about yourself, just go ahead and copy/paste the rules 🙂
1) I’m the eldest of 4 kids and the only girl. Always wanted to have a sister.
2) I’ve lived in Surinam for almost 2 years – seemed like 20. Although I look back on it now as a wonderful experience, it wasn’t so wonderful at the time – homesickness is a terrible thing.
Art is an important part of my life. I love so many different things, paintings, drawings, poems, sculptures, performing arts like ballet, classical music and of course musical theatre! The best way to spend an evening (apart from witnessing a live performance) is browsing YouTube. I’ve found so many gems there, things from the past too, I had no idea that so many things were actually recorded and stored away, waiting for a bigger public than national television.
On one of my “YouTube Nights” I found a video that I just have to share. Swan Lake is a masterpiece by itself, but this performance by the Great Chinese State Circus gave me goosebumps all over.
While searching for a layout to post at Flaunt Thy Layout, I thought I was going crazy. I was sure I did post a layout with Manon in Baker Street Tube Station, but couldn’t find it anywhere. Then ‘the quarter fell’ (Dutch expression 🙂 ) it must have been one of the posts that got lost with the move of my domain *sigh*
So… here I go again…
I remember I was trying to create the ‘torn paper’ look, and struggled to make it look real enough. Finally after hours of trying I was happy with the results, but how to check if it was good enough. I asked my hubby (who has no clue about DS or graphics what-so-ever) if he could recognize the things on my screen. ‘Yeah’, he said, ‘Erm… is that…, erm… that looks like torn paper (?)’. Good answer, mister!
According to the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes lived at Baker Street 221b. The Baker Street Tube (= Underground) Station commemorates the fictional Sherlock Holmes’ association with Baker Street. The ticket hall has beautiful arches and the profile of Sherlock Holmes is printed on the tiles. I just love the colours.
At Baker Street 221b you will now find the Sherlock Holmes museum. Check their website where many complete stories, starring Holmes & Watson, are available for your reading pleasure 🙂
It’s not that I have loads of free time, nor that I’m bored, I just wanted something else to do.
I like memes, I like scrapbooking, and thought of a way to combine the two. Isn’t it true that everyone loves to show off their layouts? Especially if a layout turns out really well and it gives you a warm feeling every time you look at it, you want to share it with the world. Yes, of course you can post them at your blog, but not everyone has a multitude of visitors – I sure don’t have 😉 Uploading them to a Gallery at a (digital) scrapbooking forum attracts a little more visitors, so that’s another option.
But… *drumroll* now there’s Flaunt Thy Layout – a blog where you can add a comment with a link to the layout you want to share with the world. As it’s more fun to compare the different approach each person has, there is a monthly theme. Everyone can post a link, whether you are a paper, digital or hybrid scrapbook-fanatic, go ahead and show off!
If you don’t have a blog, you can upload the images to a (free) account at Flickr, or you can link to a layout in your forum gallery.
The theme is monthly – for now. Let’s just see how many people participate and if there’s enough interest, we can change to a two-weeks-theme or perhaps weekly.
For now, it’s just me, and I’m feeling lonely! 🙂
This months theme is WATER – so if you have a layout that includes water in any way, post a comment with a link to your layout and make sure you have coffee/tea and cookies available for your visitors 🙂
If you like this idea, please pass it on to your friends, at forums, blogs and/or click the “StumbleUponIt!” button at the bottom of this post!
